Harry Potter's MBA Musings A blog to share my MBA experience from application days to graduation. |
Thursday, November 20, 2003 Of new Blogs and lesser applications this year Looks like there are a new set of Applicant blogs. But nothing like Tad Holbies' blog that got repeated. The activity in BWeek also appears less this year. No wonder, the applications are down by around 20-30% from last year in most of the places. However, I dont think that increases the chance of any one significantly . Why ? -The people who are determined and are more serious still continue to apply -- Boom time , Bust time or whatever time. They are not riders of the waves, the herd tendency ..... Hence, among the 70% remaining applicants we will have more stronger applicants as opposed to earlier application peak days. So, in effect the difference in competition is marginal. ( You can use your critical reasoning and figure out the assumptions in the argument :). But, at least for Internation applicants, I strongly believe this holds true. ) posted by Ravi Trivedi | 9:44 PM | |
