Sloan interview invites start trickling in

Sloan interview invites have started going out. As guessed people whose applications went complete in October end have been send the invites. The interviews are between 2nd Dec - 23rd Dec . I would think that a big chunk of invites should be coming in second week of december.

Alll the best to all applicants!!

Of new Blogs and lesser applications this year
Looks like there are a new set of Applicant blogs. But nothing like Tad Holbies' blog that got repeated.

The activity in BWeek also appears less this year. No wonder, the applications are down by around 20-30% from last year in most of the places.

However, I dont think that increases the chance of any one significantly . Why ?

-The people who are determined and are more serious still continue to apply -- Boom time , Bust time or whatever time. They are not riders of the waves, the herd tendency .....

Hence, among the 70% remaining applicants we will have more stronger applicants as opposed to earlier application peak days. So, in effect the difference in competition is marginal.

( You can use your critical reasoning and figure out the assumptions in the argument :). But, at least for Internation applicants, I strongly believe this holds true. )

Updates on application

I was not satisfied with my quality of Kellogg essays, so decided to give in some extra time before re-applying. So that leaves me with 4 schools in Round 2.

I hope to have Kellogg, Berkeley, Michigan and Stanford done in that order.

What's latest

As I mentioned earlier, I have joined Business Courses and that keep me busy on weekends and weekdays ( with loads of assignments) .

Managing 3 things : Work, Courses and Applications is quite an experience -- which I think will be valuable during my B-School days :)
